As a production supervisor in LA for over 25 years, I have spent countless hours serving in the commercial trenches with many of you. Working so closely with PA’s, Assistant Production Supervisors, Producers and other Production Supervisors uniquely qualifies me to serve on the PHBP board. As a cancer survivor, I am grateful to PHBP for the care I was able to, and continue to, receive. My personal experience has given me a front row seat to how critical healthcare is for all. Every commercial production worker, freelance and staff alike, deserves to benefit from PHBP, with strong representation on the Trustee Board to ensure no one, or their needs, are left behind. 

In our new PWG Local 111, I was elected Western Region Delegate and Chairperson to the Board of Trustees. In the months leading up to our contract negotiations, I served as Co-Chair of the Health/Benefits Committee, where we dug into different possible health plans: our primary goal was to get coverage for as many members of our community as possible. We are well on our way, and still have work to do here. 

If you ask any APS or PA I work with they will tell you how I advocate for them every step of the way, including guiding how to track PHBP jobs to ensure they qualify, as EVERY WORK DAY COUNTS. I make myself available, and pride myself on being approachable, to every crew member on set. My years as a volunteer in the unionization efforts has expanded my horizons to include relationships with workers in other cities. This has broadened my understanding of the challenges of accessing health insurance in markets outside of LA.

I’m asking for your support as nominee, and vote as candidate, to serve on the PHBP Board of Trustees. This health plan affects everyone in commercial production, and I do not take this responsibility lightly. I pledge to advocate for every single one of us, including those who have yet to qualify for PHBP coverage, and to help streamline benefits communication. I would welcome the opportunity to represent you, the Production Worker, in an honest and robust way that will benefit all of us.
